OUR story

WIllow Camp (1).JPG

We found this land in 2025.

Twelve acres in Harpers Ferry. A river running alongside. Trees tall enough to make you stop mid-conversation and look up.

We had worked in land long enough to know the difference. Most plots are just plots—acreage, coordinates, a line on a map. This one said something before we had time to decide. We didn't sleep for a few days after that. Then we said yes.

We share a specific problem: we both have strong opinions about architecture and design. Put us at a dinner table with friends and somehow the conversation ends up on rooflines and window proportions. Our friends have learned to expect this. We've learned to accept it.

We came to this land with a shared sensibility: modern, considered, quietly minimal. The kind of design that doesn't announce itself. We believe a space should make you feel something the moment you walk in—before you've even noticed why.

That belief is what In FoRest is built on.

We wanted to create a place for people who love nature...

...but don't want to negotiate with it. Where the river and the trees are right there—present, unhurried, beautiful—and yet nothing feels uncertain. No roughing it. No compromise. Every comfort already considered. Every detail already in place.

You arrive. You open the door. The rest has been taken care of.

That idea—simple to describe, patient to build—guided every decision we made.

The materials we chose. The way light moves through each cabin. The layout. The feeling of crossing the threshold for the first time.

We didn't build a hotel. We didn't build a campsite. We built a place by two people who care deeply about how spaces make people feel—and who wanted to offer that feeling to others.

Best,

Elena & Andrian
